PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for continuously controlling blood sugar, and to provide a method for treating non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus of mammal. SOLUTION: The method for treating non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) of mammal comprises continuously administering glucan-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) or its relevant peptide and the composition for sustaining administration of the peptide is provided (wherein, GLP-1 is, during treated in the pancreas and the intestinal tract, converted to peptide of 31 amino acid containing amino acid 7-37 of GLP-1 and the amino acid has insulinotropic activity, that is, stimulates synthesis or manifestation of hormone insulin or causes stimulation).
