PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and economically epoxidizing an unsaturated group-containing compound. SOLUTION: This method for producing an alicyclic epoxy compound represented by general formula (I) (R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>18</SP>are each identically or differently H, a halogen atom, a hydrocarbon group which may contain an oxygen atom or a halogen atom, or an alkoxy group which may have a substituent) is characterized by epoxidizing an alicyclic olefin compound represented by general formula (II) with an organic percarboxylic acid.
