PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ornamental material with a reverse opal structure having both structural color development properties and superwater repellency. SOLUTION: This ornamental material with a reverse opal structure is of a reverse opal structure having a multiple layer of spherical spaces of the same diameter periodically arranged. In addition, the ornamental structure is characterized in that the diameter of the spherical space is set to be of such a size that the stop band of the reverse opal structure falls within the range of visible light and the surface of the structure is fluorine-coated.
