PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data stream recorder or the like for sufficiently protecting data. SOLUTION: A receiving unit 3 transmits a data stream obtained by receiving digital broadcast to a mother board 1 via a connection bus B. The mother board 1 allows a contents storing internal memory 33 to store a TS packet representing sound and meeting the requirements indicated by a division target designating descriptor, among the TS packets included in the data stream, as a packet to be thinned according to the control of contents recording/reproducing program; and allows a storage 2 for the mother board to store the others. When reproducing the sound; the packet to be thinned is read out from the memory 33 according to the contents recording/reproducing program, the others are read from the storage 2 for the mother board, the original data stream is restored, and the module is restored.
