The Christmas tree decoration in the form of a star is folded in a conventional way from sheet material. It is opened by pulling on a string (7) passing through the tip of one arm (2), its opposite end being fastened halfway along it. The string also passes through a staple (8) near the center of the opposite arm (1). The string is used to suspend the star when it has been opened.
