<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of the clogging of an ink jet head for bonding ink to a material to be recorded and well bonding a colorant to the material to be recorded to obtain a good pixel shape. <P>SOLUTION: A recording liquid, wherein fine particles of pigment as a colorant with a specific gravity of 1 or more are dispersed in a liquid, is discharged from fine openings and bonded to the material to be recorded to perform recording. Each of the openings has a size of ϕ25 μm or less and the recording liquid is prepared by dispersing fine particles in the solvent of the recording liquid along with a dispersant. When the size of the fine particles is set to Dp and the size of each of the fine openings is set to Do, Dp and Do are set to 0.0005 ≤ Dp/Do ≤ 0.02. The material to be recorded is paper wherein a change in the contact angle of the recording liquid is almost eliminated within 100 ms after the recording liquid is adhered.
