<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image by prioritizing image quality based on information related to graininess which decides image quality by considerable. <P>SOLUTION: In forming the image by an electrophotographic system, a latent image formed on an image carrier 150 is developed with toner, and information on the unevenness of image density in a spatial frequency area including spatial frequency at which human visual sensitivity becomes maximum from the image 151 developed with the toner and information on the average image density of the image 151 are obtained. Based on the obtained information, image forming conditions concerning the unevenness of the image density, for example, the linear velocity ratio of a developer carrier to the image carrier, a gap between the surface of the image carrier and the developer carrier, developer amount adhering to the developer carrier and developing potential are changed according to instruction from a control circuit CON. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
