<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original plate for a planographic printing plate, which has excellent on-machine developability and enables image recording using infrared scanning exposure based on a digital signal, and a plate making and printing method using the same. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming layer provided on a substrate contains a microcapsule (1) which contains at least one compound selected from a compound having at least two functional groups capable of being crosslinked by an acid and a compound having at least two functional groups capable of being polymerized by a radical, a photothermal conversion agent (2), and a reaction accelerator (3); and a hydrophilic polymer is covalently bonded to the surface of the capsule wall of the microcapsule. The printing method is characterized in that after the exposure of the original plate for the planographic printing plate by means of infrared laser light, printing is done by eliminating a non-image part through the use of a dampening solution and/or an ink on a printing machine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
