<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective transmission type liquid crystal display device which can perform uniform display by eliminating the difference in optical efficiency and color characteristics between a reflection display part and a transmission display part. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has the following advantages: firstly, the desired thickness differences between color filters 136 of the reflection sections R and color filters 136 of the transmission sections T can be easily designed and the color reproduction percentage between the reflection sections and the transmission sections can be maintained uniform; secondly, additional level difference patterns for cell gap adjustment are not formed on an array substrate and therefore the short-circuiting between electrodes by a high difference in level can be prevented and an MRS structure for improvement of the reflection efficiency can be easily applied; thirdly, the slopes between the color filters of the reflection sections and the color filters of the transmission sections are arranged in the regions corresponding to reflection layers 120 of the opposite substrate, and thus, the light leakage can be prevented without lowering an aperture ratio and the contrast ratio of the transmission sections can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
