PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data stream recording apparatus or the like whereby data can sufficiently be protected. SOLUTION: A reception unit 3 transmits a data stream obtained by receiving a digital broadcast program to a mother board 1 via a connection bus B. The mother board 1 stores a TS packet denoting an image and in matching with a condition represented by a division object designation descriptor among TS packets included in the data stream as an interleave object packet in a contents storage internal memory 33 of the reception unit 3 and stores the others to a mother board storage 2 under the control of a contents recording and reproducing program. In the case of reproducing an image, the interleave object packet is read from the contents storage internal memory 33 and the others are read from the mother board storage 2 under the control of the contents recording and reproducing program, and the original data stream is restored and reproduced.
