MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having both excellent corrosion resistance (preservation stability) and satisfactory high recording density characteristics (electromagnetic transducing characteristics). SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium is constituted so that an upper magnetic recording layer has an initial SFD switching field distribution value of≤0.5, ferromagnetic powder of the upper magnetic layer has≤80 nm average major axis length and the SFD value of the upper magnetic layer after the upper magnetic layer is preserved for 90 days under the condition of 60°C/90% RH (relative humidity) is 1.2 times as much as the initial SFD value or below.
