PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid increase of oil temperature and increase of a friction loss by adjusting an oil amount introduced to a generator to an adequate value in an engine lubricating device in which a generator is stored in a generator chamber formed between a crankcase and a generator cover connected to the crankcase, and a block side returning passage running to a head side returning passage installed in a cylinder head is installed in a cylinder block through the generator chamber for returning the oil from the cylinder head into an oil pan side via the generator chamber. SOLUTION: The cylinder block 19 is provided with a branch passage 143 running to an intermediate part of the block side returning passage 142. The branch passage 143 is formed to take a circuitous route around the generator chamber 65 so that a part of oil circulating through the block side passage 142 flows into the oil pan side.
