PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an ignition timing by quickly responding to an operating condition of a premixed compression ignition internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This power unit P comprises: the premix compression ignition internal combustion engine 4 for compressing an air-fuel mixture comprising gas containing oxygen and fuel; devices 2, 3 for supplying liquid fuel before being reformed to the premix compression ignition internal combustion engine 4; a reformer 7 for reforming the liquid fuel by dehydrocyclization reaction to generate liquid fuel of high octane number rich in aromatic hydrocarbon; and a device 8 for supplying the liquid fuel of high octane number to the premix compression ignition internal combustion engine 4 as its fuel.
