PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for remediating printhead cross-contamination wherein at least one of the ink-jet inks has undergone crashing, in particular, a system and a printing method of printing with ink-jet ink capable of eliminating cross-contamination of two reactive inks even if a common service station or printhead is used. SOLUTION: The method of minimizing or reversing the crashing of the first ink that reacts with the second ink-jet ink on the printhead includes the steps of distributing a chemically prepared reactive cleaning liquid that reacts with the first ink-jet ink after crashing, and washing the crashed and ink-contained printhead with the reactive cleaning liquid.
