PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable toilet capable of sufficiently securing the vertical width of a back board part without changing the height position of the back board part of a backrest for allowing a user to sit on the toilet comfortably. SOLUTION: The portable toilet comprises a toilet seat 3, a toilet lid 5 covering the opening 4 of a toilet tank 2, and the backrest 6 extending upward from a toilet body 1. The backrest has posts 7a and 7b and the back board part 8, and the toilet seat and the toilet lid are journaled to their respective rotation shafts disposed in the rear part of the toilet body rotatably. The toilet lid has a folding structure 9 to be folded in two at the intermediate position. When the toilet lid is rotated to the rear in the double-folded state and opened, the toilet lid passes under the back board part of the backrest to be located in the rear of the backrest. The position of the rotation shaft of the toilet lid is disposed lower than the position of the rotation shaft of the toilet seat. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
