<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep reading quality in continuous reading of an original whose sheets are larger than a maximum loading number of sheets that can be loaded at a time in picture reading by an ADF. <P>SOLUTION: A copying device is provided with a CCD, a sensor detecting whether the original exists in the ADF, a counter counting the number of serial sheets of the original, a sensor detecting a temperature near the CCD, and a communication means for obtaining an operation situation of a printer engine and a picture data controller.
