<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image having no color slurring without deteriorating the ability of a color slurring amount detection means 93 even when service endurance progresses by providing a mechanism for always cleaning the lens surface of the color slurring amount detection means. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with an image carrier, an intermediate transfer body to which an image is transferred from the image carrier and from which the image is transferred to transfer material and the color slurring amount detection means for detecting the color slurring amount of the image on the intermediate transfer body by emitting and receiving infrared rays. The color slurring amount detection means has the lens surface on the outside of an infrared light emitting means and an infrared light receiving means, and has at least one blade abutting on the lens surface as the cleaning means for the lens surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
