摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting the rotating direction of an electric motor and its method capable of safely and conveniently determining the rotating direction of a single-phase or a three-phase induction motor. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for detecting the rotating direction of the electric motor comprises an F pickup coil for sensing a current induced by a rotating magnetic field inside the electric motor; an S pickup coil, located and attached at a prescribed distance from the F pickup coil, for sensing a current induced by the rotating magnetic field inside the electric motor; an amplifing part for linearly amplifying, each through the use of an operational amplifier, the currents induced by the F pickup coil and the S pickup coil; a waveform shaping part for shaping, each through the use of an RC circuit, the waveform of the currents amplified by the amplifying part; and a microprocessor for inputting the values of the currents of which the waveforms are shaped by the waveform shaping part, reading the phase difference between the waveforms of the currents induced by the F pickup coil and the S pickup coil, and outputting an LED lighting control signal from the results of the reading. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
