<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording method and an image recorder performing high accuracy image recording on a glass substrate at a remarkably low apparatus cost. <P>SOLUTION: The glass substrate is secured onto a cylindrical support (drum) which is then rotated (main scanning) and a laser recording head is moved in the axial direction of the cylindrical support (subscanning).
