<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with distance data to a preceding vehicle or oncoming vehicle or a distance measuring means in a headlamp device for a vehicle which performs a light distribution control considering the preceding vehicle or oncoming vehicle based on an image acquired by an image acquisition means. <P>SOLUTION: This headlamp device for a vehicle 1 comprises the image acquisition means 6 for acquiring the image of the front of a vehicle, a headlamp 2 for lighting the front of the vehicle, and a light distribution control means 3 for changing the light distribution of the headlamp based on the image information obtained from the image acquisition means.
