PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mechanism for supplementing an intermediate pack containing ink being fed to an inkjet head with ink repeatedly over a long time. SOLUTION: The mechanism for supplementing ink comprises a sub-cartridge 60 replaceable with a cartridge and containing the intermediate pack 62 containing ink being fed to the nozzle 12 of the inkjet head, and a level sensor 64 for detecting the ink level of the intermediate pack 62. The mechanism for supplementing ink further comprises a replaceable auxiliary cartridge 70 containing an auxiliary pack 72 containing ink for supplementing the intermediate pack 62, and a means 80 for supplementing the intermediate pack 62 with ink from the auxiliary pack 72 of the auxiliary cartridge when the level sensor 64 detects the ink level in the intermediate pack 62 not higher than a specified level.
