PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key sequential depression device and a key sequential depressing method which permit the sequential depression of keys, while a roller moves linearly with accuracy, by a simple mechanism and without requiring a complicated control means. SOLUTION: The lowermost end of the roller 7 is set to be the same in the height of the upper face of the key 31 when it is pushed in. By feeding compressed air from an air supply port 4A, an arm 2 is thrusted, the roller 7 depresses the keys 31 sequentially from the left end of a keyboard 30 toward its right end, and conversely, by feeding compressed air from an air supply port 4B, the roller 7 depresses the keys 31 sequentially from the right end of the keyboard 30 toward its left end.
