PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out refreshing operation of an electrophoresis display device with a period suitable for characteristics of an electrophoresis display panel. SOLUTION: The electrophoresis display device 11 is provided with a controller 12 and a display module 13. The controller 12 outputs picture data D, clock signals CLKX, CLKY, etc. to a scanning line driving circuit 15 and a data line driving circuit 16 of the display module 13 and makes electrophoresis particles in each of pixels of a display panel part 14 move to specified positions. The display module 13 is provided with a timer circuit 17, produces a duration datum Dt when the controller 12 inputs a write signal Ws1 to the display panel part 14 and compares the duration datum Dt and a reference time datum Dref stored in the timer circuit 17. When both data coincide to each other, the display module 13 outputs a rewrite signal Ws2 to the controller 12. The controller 12 once again makes the electrophoresis particles in the display panel part 14 move to specified positions on the basis of the rewrite signal Ws2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
