PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read a biochip used in chemiluminescence with high accuracy and reliability. SOLUTION: The reader is adapted to photoelectrically detect chemiluminescence of a visible light wavelength region from an adsorptive area on a biochip by a contact between a chemiluminescent matrix and ferment by a cooled CCD camera 11, amplify the same by an amplifier 12, and convert the same to a digital signal by an analog-digital converter 13 to be input as light emission intensity to a data processing means 14. The data processing means 14 conducts the processing of deleting abnormally high light emission intensity equal to or 1.5 times as high as the lowest light emission intensity out of the chemiluminescence emitted from a position where ligands or receptor of the same type is fixed. Subsequently, one of the average value, the central value, the minimum value and the maximum value of remaining light emission intensity from which the abnormally high emission intensity is deleted is calculated or selected as a read value.
