PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe jointing method and a locking push ring used for the method for positively connecting both pipes while securing watertightness at the joint part of the pipes. SOLUTION: The tip part of the succeeding pipe is inserted in the rear end part of the preceding pipe. The rear end part flange of the preceding pipe and the flange of a push ring provided with a seal rubber ring fittingly inserted beforehand in the tip side of the succeeding pipe, and a pressing face for pressing the seal rubber ring into the rear end side of the preceding pipe, are fastened at a plurality of parts using clamping bolts and nuts to joint the pipes. Both end parts of a plurality of divided pieces are overlapped with the end parts of the adjacent divided pieces to form the push ring annularly surrounding the outer periphery of the succeeding pipe. The push ring is clamped to press toward the preceding pipe, and locking claw means provided at suitable parts of all or any one of the divided pieces to allow locking claws to bite into the outer peripheral surface of the succeeding pipe by pressing bolts are used to allow the locking claws to bite into the outer peripheral surface of the succeeding pipe by the pressing bolts in the clamped state of the push ring.
