<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine for dividing a workplace for smokers and nonsmokers, which is constituted so that unwanted bacteria hardly reproduce themselves in an air purifier and smokers and nonsmokers are not distressed by a bad smell when this machine is operated again and the maintenance cycle of which can be made longer than usual by delaying the contamination progress of the air purifier. <P>SOLUTION: A blower 5 and the air purifier 6 are housed in a main body 2 of this machine 1 positioned between an air sucking port 3 and an air discharging port 4. An ion generating element 14A is arranged in a box unit 11 positioned on the upstream side of the purifier 6. When a power switch of this machine 1 is turned on, the blower 5 is started and air is sucked. When someone smokes around this machine 1 and smoke is emitted, the smoke existing in a wide range is sucked into the unit 11 through the port 3 together with the surrounding air. At this time, the element 14A is actuated so that fungi and bacteria in the sucked air are inactivated and the bad smell is decomposed by the actions of the positive and negative ions generated from the element 14A. Therefore, the unwanted bacteria hardly reproduce themselves in an electric dust collector 8 and the bad smell is eliminated when this machine 1 is operated again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
