PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a cancelable delay time in canceling multipath interference of the delay time that exceeds a guard interval length in an OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplex) signal receiver. SOLUTION: This OFDM signal receiver is provided with a subtracter for subtracting a multipath interference component from an input signal, a filter means for generating a multipath interference component, first and second transmission path characteristic estimating parts for estimating system transmission path characteristic in inputs and outputs of the subtracter, a residual calculating means for calculating cancellation residuals from the outputs, an IFFT (inverse fast Fourier transformation) means for transforming the outputs into a time domain and a coefficient updating means for generating a coefficient for the filter means from the outputs. The transmission path characteristic estimating parts calculate a transmission path characteristic by applying a hard decision to a data carrier, re-modulating the data carrier and using the re-modulated data carrier as reference.
