PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extension telephone system in which gateways of ethernet (R) LAN transmitting/receiving voice data by IP packets communicate with terminals by Bluetooth (R) thus performing communication among terminals. SOLUTION: In the extension telephone system 1, gateways 3a-3n perform voice data communication on an ethernet (R) LAN2 by mutually converting voice data communicable according to Bluetooth (R) regulations and IP packets communicable on the ethernet (R) LAN2. A terminal 10a-10m transmits a service request to another terminal 10a-10m through the closest one of the plurality of gateways 3a-3n and the ethernet (R) LAN2. Another terminal 10a-10m terminate the service request through the closest gateway 3a-3n and the terminals 10a-10m perform voice communication through the gateways 3a-3n and the ethernet (R) LAN2.
