PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which has high affinity and entertaining properties and realizes the improvement of convenience, and also to provide an image forming method. SOLUTION: Program guide data are acquired from a server provided on the Internet network through a modem 40 and stored in an EPG (electronic program guide) memory, and viewing and listening history data about a selected broadcast program are stored in a viewing and listening history memory 35. Viewing time for each program attribute is accumulated on the basis of the viewing and listening history data and program attributes of the program guide data, and character images formed by image data stored in a character data memory are changed in accordance with a user's preference tendency of broadcast programs on the basis of the accumulated data.
