PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture data distribution system which can suppress the load of a mail server and the increase of traffic on a network and can improve the convenience of a user. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a setting content registration means which associatively registers a first setting content for "E mail transmission" and a second setting content for "FTP transmission" or "HDD accumulation". The system is also provided with a distribution means switching means (S125) for switching "E mail transmission" to "FTP transmission" or "HDD accumulation" if the size of picture data exceeds a reference value when "E mail transmission" is selected for distributing prescribed picture data (YES in S124) and applying the second setting content registered in accordance with the first setting content.
