PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary operation type electric component capable of preventing fall-off of its operation knob from a spindle. SOLUTION: This rotary operation type electric component is provided with a base 1; an operation knob 6; a rotation member 3 rotated by the operation knob 6; a slider 3c for detecting the rotation of the rotation member 3; a rotary encoder including a conductive pattern 9a; and the spindle 4 forming the rotary center of the rotation member 3a and mounted to the base 1. The spindle 4 is formed of a metal plate; a metal plate part 5 is attached to the spindle 4; the plate part 5 is connected to the operation knob 6; and the rotation member 3 is connected to the plate part 5.
