INFORMATION VOLUME RECORDING CARRIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable all required information to be written, when a recordable recording carrier is used for recording information constituted by CD-ROM format. SOLUTION: A sector position in a track is represented by the logical sector number LSN. An information volume VOL 1 is provided with control information PT and DF for controlling the retrieval to information in a recorded information volume, and the information is arranged according to a predetermined format. A reference code VD1 to the control information is stored in a sector in a predetermined address area (LSN=16 to LSN=SZ). A next volume VOL 2 is recorded in a track 10. Each of coming information volumes has substitutive reference information for retrieval of both the volume VOL 2 and the previous recording volume VOL 1. The substitutive reference information is stored in a sector, in a reproducible substitutive address area (LSN=offs+16 to LSN=offs+SZ). COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
