PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber capable of imparting braking force having different magnitude to a control object during rotational operation in one direction of the control object. SOLUTION: This shock absorber is equipped with a rolling member 6 held without being fixed to a piston 3, provided in the abutting state on the cam face 2c formed on a rotor 2 by energizing force of a spring 4, and rolling along the cam face 2c following rotation of the rotor 2. The cam face 2c has two inclined planes 2d, 2e having different tilt angles during a rotation stroke in one direction of the rotor 2. Consequently, the braking force having different magnitude can be imparted to the control object during the rotational operation in one direction of the control object. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
