PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device which maintains higher display quality and to provide the driving method of the electro-optical device and electronic equipment. SOLUTION: When the power source of an electrophoresis display device is turned on, a controller performs a reset operation (S1-1). Then the controller starts a write operation (S1-2). When there is another write instruction, reset and write pixels are selected (S1-4). Pixels becoming the object of this reset and write processing are selected so as to be dispersed in space and time. Then, the pixels are selected by using a reset and write selecting signal. After performing reset, write voltage is outputted to the reset and write pixels. On the other hand, difference voltage is outputted to pixels other than the selected reset and write pixels (S1-5).
