PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device with high throughput for recording processing including paper feeding processing with a trigger for starting the paper feed processing by allowing a carriage 23 to operate on both sides outside a recording region in the main scanning direction of the carriage 23. SOLUTION: In order to effect the operation of the clutch device for switching ON/OFF of the rotational driving of a feed roller 3, a clutch lever 33 provided in one end of the recording device and a link member 51 engaged with the lever 33 and extended to reach both sides outside of the recording region are provided. The second trigger 33c of the clutch lever 33 and the first trigger 51a of the link member 51 provided in the opposite side of the lever 33 serve as the ON/OFF switching triggers. The triggers are provided in such a manner that a protrusion 23a can abut on a plurality of triggers by the move of the carriage 23. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
