PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary drum type washing machine capable of preventing a rotary drum from being applied with offset loads and evading adverse effects such as vibration or operation stoppage without causing the deviation of an object to be washed inside the rotary drum even in the case of washing the material whose mass is large comparatively its volume. SOLUTION: The rotary drum type washing machine is provided with: the rotary drum 2 rotated while housing the objects 34 to be washed; a plurality of hats 25 projectingly provided on the inner peripheral surface of the rotary drum 2; and a shell 5 housing the rotary drum 2 and storing washing water at the time of washing. The base end part of a partition plate 26 is detachably attached to the hats 25 and the inside of the rotary drum is sectioned into three divided chambers 22a, 22b and 22c by the partition plates.
