摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable nozzle opening control system capable of substantializing size reduction of the entire system, positive opening control, and improvement in responsiveness. <P>SOLUTION: Driving force to balance with the sum of enregizing force of a return spring and torque applied to the variable nozzle is calculated in an output control means 45 and outputted from a variable nozzle drive device, thereby preventing unsteadiness of the variable nozzle while maintaining the posture of the variable nozzle with an optimum opening. Because the drive device needs only to output driving force to maintain the posture according to the driving state, the return spring can be made small. The drive device can also be made small because the outputted driving force opposing the energizing force can be small.
