PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical range finder, the optical axis of which can be adjusted efficiently and accurately. SOLUTION: This optical range finder is provided with a light-emitting section, which emits a luminous flux with respect to an object existing in the direction of its optical axis and a light-receiving section, which receives a luminous flux returned from the object and measures the distance to the object in the optical axis direction. The light-emitting section is composed of a lens 21 which converges the luminous flux in the optical axis direction, a holding frame 22 which holds the lens 21, and a substrate 26 mounted with a light-emitting element 23 which emits the luminous flux and attached to the holding frame 22, in a state where the substrate 26 faces the lens 21. A transparent plate is made insertable into a groove 29 provided between the lens 21 and light-emitting element 23 facing the lens 21 so that the position of the element 23, with respect to the lens 21 in the optical axis direction, is adjusted optically.
