PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the viscosity of ink in a subtank increases over a long term and the viscosity of ink in the entire system increases due to circulation of ink during recovery processing. SOLUTION: The inkjet recorder comprising a recording head 3 having an inlet 3a and an outlet 3b for circulating ink and ejecting ink, an ink tank 1, a subtank 2, a recovery tub 4, a supply passage 11, a return passage 12 and a third valve 27 constituting an ink circulation passage for returning ink in the subtank 2 through the recording head 3 back to the subtank 2 in order to reuse the ink, and a recovery passage 25, a recovery supply passage 26 and a second pump 22 constituting an ink recovery passage for returning ink in the recovery tub 4 back to the subtank 2 in order to reuse the ink, wherein an ink discharging means consisting of an ink discharging passage 31 and an ink discharging valve 32 is provided in the ink circulation passage.
