PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens controller which realizes control of a zoom limit function of high operability, which considers operator's intention, by not returning a zoom position to a limit by control of the zoom limit function (servo driving) even in the case that the zoom position is moved beyond the limit of the zoom limit function by manual driving, with respect to an ENG lens allowing servo driving of zooming by a driving unit and manual driving of zooming by a direct manual operation of a zoom ring. SOLUTION: A driving unit 12 of an ENG lens 1 incorporates a CPU 50, and control in the case of servo driving of zooming is performed by the CPU 50. When the zoom position is moved beyond a prescribed limit by manual driving, the CPU 50 doesn't drive zooming without the operation of a see-saw zoom switch 24 though the zoom limit function is turned on.
