PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC conversion circuit with a pause mode capable of suppressing the generation of an overcurrent while suppressing an increase in the scale of the circuit, and a setting method for the pause mode of the conversion circuit. SOLUTION: The DC conversion circuit with the pause mode comprises a semiconductor switch; a clock generating circuit which controls the turn-on time and turn-off time of the semiconductor switch, and outputs a clock signal for taking average power passing through the semiconductor switch as a predetermined value to a gate of the semiconductor switch; and a drive circuit which switches the semiconductor switch to a continuous turn-on state without depending upon the clock signal, in response to a preset request of the pause mode, when the semiconductor switch which repeats turning-on and -off operations on the basis of the clock signal.
