PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft rock excavator compatibly ensuring a stroke of a cutter drum and a wide range of an angle for the cutter drum to turn to a bedrock in the soft rock excavator. SOLUTION: In the soft rock excavator equipped with the cutter drum 4 for excavating the bedrock and a boom mechanism 3 moving the cutter drum 4 to an excavator body 1, the boom mechanism 3 includes a turn-table 8 turning around a vertical shaft on the excavator body 1, a vertical pivoting arm 32 pivoting around a horizontal shaft on the turn-table 8 through a vertical pivoting arm supporting shaft 31, a slide arm 42 sliding in the longitudinal direction on the vertical pivoting arm 32 through a guide rail 41, a vertical pivoting boom 52 pivoting around the horizontal shaft on the front end of the slide arm 42 through a vertical pivoting boom supporting shaft 51 and a knuckle boom 62 pivoting around the shaft at right angles to the vertical pivoting boom supporting shaft 51 on the front end of the vertical pivoting boom 52 through a knuckle boom supporting shaft 61, and the cutter drum 4 is provided on the front end of the knuckle boom 62.
