PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a structure for dividing a printing part or a cutter part. SOLUTION: Either one of the platen 24 and the printing head 25 for constituting a printing part 20 and either one of the fixed blade 33 and the movable blade 34 constituting the cutter part 21 are provided to a first unit 50. Either one of the others of the platen 24 and the printing head 25 and the either one of the others of the fixed blade 33 and the movable mold 34 are provided to a second unit 52. The first unit 50 is arranged in a housing 4 and the second unit 52 is attached to the second housing member 16 for opening and closing the housing 4. By this constitution, the printing part 20 and the cutter part 21 are respectively divided by opening the second housing member 16. Therefore, it is unnecessary to provide a turning frame for dividing the printing part and the cutter part and the weight of the structure can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
