PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a device compact in the recording medium processing device capable of extracting a recording medium normally processed and a recording medium abnormally processed, separately. SOLUTION: The recording medium processing device comprises a carry-in part A carrying a card 1 into the device, a recording processing part C performing read and write processing for the carried-in card 1, a carrying part B making the carried-in card 1 U-turning in the device and carrying it, a control part F judging whether the read processing for the card 1 carried in the device is normal or abnormal, a sorting part D sorting the card into a card 1 judged normal and a card 1 judged abnormal right and left based on signals from the control part F, and a carry-out part E carrying the sorted card 1 out of the device.
