<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-conditioner that has realized the control of a high efficiency in each operational condition when a motor is controlled from a low speed to a high speed. <P>SOLUTION: A power conversion circuit having a function of boosting the DC voltage by converting the alternating current to the direct current and a motor control device having a weak magnetic flux control function by vector-control of a synchronous motor are employed in controlling the motor to drive a compressor for an air-conditioner. A means to boost the DC voltage in preference to the magnetic flux weakening control when increasing the number of rotation of the motor is selected.
