<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image adjusting method for an image forming apparatus capable of stably obtaining accurate density detection results, capable of shortening a time required for color-matching adjustment and capable of highly accurately adjusting color-matching. <P>SOLUTION: As for the image adjusting method for the image forming apparatus, among several color components, several images to be adjusted having color components other than reference color components as an object to be adjusted are respectively overlapped on several reference images having the reference color components, and then, the images are transferred onto a transfer medium, then, an adjusting image is formed (S13), the density of the formed adjusting image is detected (S14), the position of forming the image having other color components as the object is adjusted based on the detected density (S17). The density of the surface of the transfer medium is detected (S1), and the position of forming the image as the object is adjusted (S16 and S17) based on the detected density and the detected density of the adjusting image (S14). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
