PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for correctly controlling the amount of hydrogen peroxide to be added in a method for suppressing the production of gaseous NOx by adding hydrogen peroxide to a nitric acid-containing pickling liquid.

SOLUTION: The concentration of NOx in an exhaust gas produced from a pickling liquid is measured with an NOx automatic measuring instrument, and the amount of hydrogen peroxide to be added is automatically controlled based on the measured signal.
