<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new dipeptide, particularly the new dipeptide having angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibiting activity. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention provides the dipeptide having an amino acid sequence of Ile-His, Ile-Arg or Ile-Lys or its salt and an angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitor comprising the dipeptide or its salt. According to the invention, the dipeptide is hydrophilic and free from bitterness and has angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibiting activity and is useful for prevention of hypertension and for therapeutic agents and foods and beverages. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
