<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing plate material in which when printing is started, non-image parts on an image forming layer can be easily removed, and there exists no scumming on the non-image parts and density of image parts is in an appropriate range, and a printed matter with a good S/N ratio and a high quality are obtained, and plate wear is excellent, and a method for printing using it. <P>SOLUTION: In the printing plate material having a lipophilic image forming layer and a crosslinked hydrophilic layer on an aluminum substrate, a surface roughening treatment and an anodizing treatment are applied on the substrate to give a roughened surface with a double structure in which small pits with a mean opening diameter d1 (μm) of ≥0.1μm and ≤3μm and a ratio h/d1 of a mean depth (hμ) to the mean opening diameter d1 (μm) of ≤0.35 are superimposed on large undulations. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
