PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner which can form a high definition image without forming an abnormal image, such as a transfer with uneven density or spotted transfer and a hollow character image and has an excellent toner transfer property, to provide developer containing the toner, to provide a method for forming an image by using the toner, and to provide an image forming apparatus with the toner charged therein. SOLUTION: The toner is used in the image forming apparatus provided with at least an electrostatic latent image forming means on an image carrier, a developing means for forming a toner image by using the developer corresponding to respective colors on the image carrier, a transfer means for transferring the toner image formed on the image carrier to a body to be transferred, and a fixing means for fixing the toner image on the body to be transferred by heating or pressurizing the toner image on the body to be transferred. After pressurizing the toner in a non-contact state before separating the toner from materials to which the toner adheres, applying centrifugal force to the toner and measuring toner adhesion, when the average of adhesion distribution measured with a powder adhesion measurement using a centrifugal separation method to the material to which the toner adheres is set to F, and the standard deviation of the adhesion distribution is set toσ, the expression of F/2σ>10 is satisfied.
